The Golden Amulet
fantasy film project in development

Why did Don Fox write The Golden Amulet? What about the story attracted him?

As an early teen, Don Fox was fascinated by the concept of immortality. He thought it would be fun to write a story about a modern day Peter Pan and this led to Finn, the 14 year-old main character of The Golden Amulet.

Finn never ages because he comes from an advanced civilization that has conquered death through science.  He arrives on Earth almost by accident and becomes stranded, but hopes someday to return to his own world.

Two thousand years later his wish comes true after he meets a group of teens that help him out.

The Golden Amulet captures the sweep of time over the passage of thousands of years. As a result, the story has a grandeur that will make it one of the classic films people want to watch again and again.

It is precisely this vision of what films for teens can and ought to do that prompted Don to write The Golden Amulet.

The Golden Amulet begins in the year in the year 100 BC with the unexpected arrival of Finn on Earth.

After realizing he is marooned, we follow Finn’s adventures through the ages as he tries to find a way back home.

In the present, Finn befriends a group of teens that help him while his archenemy Darius hunts him down.

Finn and his friends overcome obstacles and hardships as they try to figure out how to return Finn to his own civilization.

The film ends with Finn getting his wish and transporting home to his universe.
